Just a very quick post to report a Whooper Swan on Abbey Mead lake found by Terry Laws yesterday afternoon.
I couldn't get there yesterday so I went down first thing this morning in the hope of finding it. Couldn't locate it first of all and was about to leave when I spotted it emerging from a reed bed some distance away. The light as always was bad and I couldn't get any closer so had to make do with the poor shots above.
I'm not sure whether it is the same bird that turned up on Tesco lake last May I think it was, or whether it's a proper wild job. I'll let you know if any more info comes to light.

Hi Phil.
Well done on getting there in time to get a few shots of the Whooper.
Have a good weekend, and good luck with catching that whopper!
Wild or not, it's still good enough for the year list Phil. :-)
