BULLFINCHA short visit to Brooklands lake area and the river this morning produced the following.
Two Grey Wagtails along the eastern edge of Brooklands lake. From the riverside wood a cock Pheasant was flushed and two GBB Gulls and half a dozen Teal were seen feeding on the low tide along with a single Cormorant and a Shelduck.
A pair of Reed Buntings were busy in the reeds by the river path and at least four or five each of Cetti's Warblers and Chiffchaffs were singing in and around the edge of the sunken marsh, two Jays were in the middle of the marsh and two Bullfinches called as they flew out of the SW corner.
Half an hour scanning from the mound didn't produce any raptors or Hirundines despite the low cloud base. However a second visit to the river side wood in the company of Eddie Denson (of Alpine Swift fame) provided a handful of Sand Martins heading north along the river and a flypast Sparrowhawk.
The walk back alongside Brooklands lake failed to reproduce the Grey Wags for Eddie, but I left him in the car park "chasing" a Wagtail species that flew over in the gloom and landed in the industrial estate, hopefully it turned out to be a Grey.

Nice photo of the male Bullfinch. You seem to seeing some good birds in the area lately. I haven't seen any Grey Wags this year, i'll have to pop down some time soon.
Sorry that you missed out on the Alpine Swift.
